Reference Manual for a Software Solution
LTS developed a security solution for the VOS operating system which runs on Stratus Computers. To distribute this solution around the world required a complete reference manual for security officers and system administrators.
The LTS solution
We wrote a complete reference manual for the software. The first part of the manual was a user's guide to understanding how the software worked and how to configure it. This included text explaining the software and its configuration, conceptual diagrams, and tables of configuration options.
The second part of the manual was a detailed reference document defining all commands and command arguments. It contained pictures of the command forms and precise definitions of command arguments.
The manual was 350 pages long, including a detailed table of contents, a list of figures, and an index for the convenience of users. Each revision of the manual contained revision marks to make it simple for experienced users to locate changes.
